The Information, a leading global technology media, has released its annual flagship ranking — the "50 Most Promising Startups of 2025". We are proud that two of our portfolio companies, Spirit AI and PixVerse, were selected and ranked among the Top 3 companies in the Asia cohort.

Since 2020, The Information has published this annual list, now in its sixth edition. The ranking is widely regarded as one of the most credible barometers of early-stage innovation globally. It focuses on high-growth startups that have raised less than US$100 million and hold valuations under US$1 billion, evaluating them across technology differentiation, business model innovation, revenue performance, and long-term growth potential.

Spirit AI — Ranked #2, Leading in Embodied AI Innovation

Spirit AI, founded in 2024 by a team from UC Berkeley, CMU, Tsinghua University, Peking University, and other top institutions, has quickly become a leading embodied-AI company with full-stack capabilities spanning language, vision, motion, and control systems.

Its recent release of the industrial robotic Moz1 features 26 degrees of freedom and some of the highest power-density integrated force-control joints globally, achieving a 1:1 payload-to-weight ratio and representing major breakthroughs in hardware performance.

In under two years, Spirit AI has progressed from algorithm development to full system integration and commercialization, becoming one of the fastest-scaling embodied AI startups globally.

PixVerse — Ranked #3 in Asia, Leading Global AI Video Generation

PixVerse earned its place in the Asia Top 3 for its breakthrough video-generation model PixVerse V5, which now competes directly with global leaders in the “image-to-video” category.

Across PixVerse and its China consumer platform “拍我AI,” the company has surpassed 100 million global users, with 16 million monthly active users and annual recurring revenue (ARR) exceeding US$40 million.

Since commercializing in November 2024, PixVerse has grown revenue more than 10× in under one year, making it one of the world’s fastest-growing AI video-generation platforms in both user scale and revenue.

This year, Sequoia Capital backed 8 companies on the list, followed by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) with 7. Khosla Ventures, General Catalyst, Bain Capital Ventures, and Kleiner Perkins each backed three companies. Among Asia-based investors, Eminence Ventures, Ant Group, and JD.com each had two companies making the list, earning them recognition as the most active Asian investors featured in this year’s ranking. Benchmark Capital, Thrive Capital, and Menlo Ventures also saw two of their backed companies selected, while Peter Thiel’s Founders Fund appeared with one company.

The inclusion of both Spirit AI and PixVerse validates Eminence Ventures’ long-standing strategy of backing Chinese AI founders with global ambition and execution. We believe the next generation of AI companies will not be defined by geography, but by technical innovation and global operational excellence.
