We are proud to announce that our recent investment in the Pre-A+ funding round of VAST, a rising star in the field of AI-native 3D content generation. The round was led by the Beijing AI Industry Investment Fund, with participation from other notable investors including Oasis Capital, Fortune Capital, and the Tsinghua Alumni Seed Fund. This investment reflects our conviction in VAST as a next-generation platform company at the forefront of the “AI + 3D” convergence — a domain we believe is on the cusp of transforming digital creation at scale.
As generative AI gains maturity across text, image, and video, 3D content remains one of the few frontiers yet to experience a full-blown generational shift. We view 3D generative content (3DGC) technology as the next major inflection point in AI-powered creativity. The market dynamics are clear: demand for high-quality, scalable 3D assets is accelerating across verticals including gaming, film, XR, industrial design, and 3D printing. On the supply side, we are finally seeing the convergence of model performance, data availability, and compute infrastructure. In our view, 3D creation is poised to evolve from a siloed, professional production pipeline into a broadly accessible, prosumer-friendly ecosystem. VAST sits squarely at the center of this transformation.
Through extensive interaction with VAST’s founding team, led by CEO Simon Song, we developed three key convictions that underpin our investment:
As we noted in our internal memo: “The digital divide in 3D creation is rapidly closing. What VAST is building is not just a tool, but an engine for reshaping the production dynamics of the 3D era.”
We believe that in the next five years, 3D creation will emerge as a core expressive medium — much like photography did a century ago, or video editing in the YouTube era. No longer confined to expert modelers and studios, 3D content will be increasingly shaped by everyday creators, developers, and creative consumers.
